About Evos Malta: Evos Malta is strategically located in the central Mediterranean for bunkering and East and West trading routes. We are a fully flexible blending terminal with a full segregated infrastructure facilitating high throughput and intra-terminal trading. We work with around 75 employees in our Malta terminal.

About the role: We are seeking a dedicated Accountant to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing financial reports, managing accounting transactions, and ensuring compliance with Maltese accounting and tax requirements. The role involves working closely with management, auditors, clients, suppliers, and other stakeholders. Main tasks of the position include the following amongst others:

• Ensures the company’s financial records are accurate and up-to-date, while supporting management with reliable financial information and ensuring compliance with local requirements and Group polices.

• Establishes and maintains accounting practices to ensure accurate and up-to-date accounting record necessary for business operations.

• Maintain accurate bank records, prepare reconciliations and monitor cash movements.

• Assist with preparation of management accounts, month end reporting schedule and financial statements.

• Prepare VAT returns and other relevant tax-related documentation.

• Assist with income tax and corporate tax compliance in accordance with Maltese requirements.

• Provide budget cost controls for opex and capex, financial analysis, accounting practices and reports

• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.

• Ensure accounting records comply with applicable Maltese legislation and accounting standards.

• Identify discrepancies and resolve accounting issues promptly.

• Maintain confidentiality of financial and company information.

• Support the year end audit and other statutory and compliance requirements and related financial reports and ad-hoc finance tasks.

• Assist or replace the Finance & Administration Manager when not available.

About you: To qualify for this role we expect that you match the following requirements:

• Have a minimum 3 years’ of relevant accounting experience preferably in a Maltese company or accounting firm.

• A recognised Degree at MQF level 6 or higher in Accountancy or Finance or an ACCA qualification.

• Experience with accounting software; familiarity with Dynamics 365 Business Central would be considered an asset.

• Sound working knowledge of MS Office applications particularly Excel.

• Strong attention to detail and numerical accuracy.

• Excellent organisation and communication skills with a meticulous approach to work.

• Able to work on own initiative as well as collaboratively within a team.

• Able to meet tight deadlines.

• Integrity & commitment to confidentiality.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.

• Hold a valid work authorisation to work in Malta.
